Soft Tissue Therapy

General Massage - Sports Massage - Performance Therapy

What is Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft Tissue Therapy is the umbrella term for massage practices and techniques which involve direct action on muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. I have broken down the methods which I practice into 3 areas:

General Massage

Whether you have been sat down for to long; in an office, in a car or just feel a bit stiff and immobile then a General Massage is a good way to go. Even at times when there is absolutely nothing wrong and you just need a little bit of stress relief or downtime then massage has been shown to be a great way to relax.

How it works:

Your first session will be an assessment and discussion to identify areas to focus on, this will then be followed by initial treatment for the remainder of the appointment. Following this regular or semi-regular appointments will build relationships and routines to maximise the agreed outcomes and expectations.

Fees: £50 - 60 minutes | £30 - 30 minutes | Home visit within the Cambridge area £75

*First sessions are to be booked as 60 minute sessions to include an initial assessment

Sports Massage

A Sports Massage is not for just times of injury. Sports Massage's can be thought of in 3 ways:

Preventative: Every now and again we pick up niggle's or tightnesses through training and life in general. Not a big thing at the time, but if you keep training on them they will accumulate and a small issue becomes a big one. A Sports Massage and some good self-maintenance can help recovery from session and aid in preparing for the next one.

Maintaining: When you're in a good place regular structured massage massage can be used to minimise the risk of injury and through assessments highlight areas of potential risk.

Rehabilitative: If you are unfortunately injured, regular massage can assist recovery by; helping manage inflammation, breaking down and removing scar tissue, realigning muscle fibres and increasing blood circulation around the effected area... To name a few.

Fees: £50 - 60 minutes | £30 - 30 minutes | Home visit within the Cambridge area £75

*First sessions are to be booked as 60 minute sessions to include an initial assessment

Performance Therapy

The human body is highly underestimated, with subtle changes at the time of performance the body can move better than ever.

This type of practice is much more involved, whereby I am based at the sight of training or competition collaborating with athletes and lead coaches. Sports Massage techniques combined with my own understanding of; running, jumping and throwing biomechanics are used to optimise athlete performance prior to and during training/ competition, followed by assistance with cool downs and recoveries.

Fees: Determined on case by case bases to suit the needs of the client
